Holden & Arts Associates is a booking and management company which serves performing artists from across the world and performing arts presenters across all of North America. Our artistic partners are both national and international award-winning companies and are among the leaders in their genres. Our North American presenting partners are among the leaders and risk takers in their communities; from large cities to small towns, they value high quality performances and professionalism in all the artistic work they present on their stages. Founded in 1983 by Michael and Theresa Holden, Holden & Arts is a passionate advocate for engaging communities and audiences of all ages.

Spring Karlo, Co-Director
Sales & Marketing

 

Spring graduated from The University of Texas in Austin with a double major in playwriting and Italian. She has worked in theatre in various capacities - as a performer/playwright (in Rome, Italy), in development (with Redmoon in Chicago, IL), and as a producer (with paper chairs in Austin, TX). With HAA since 2011, Spring was named one of The Association of Performing Arts Professionals’ “Art Leaders of Tomorrow” in 2015.  In her spare time, she is an avid scuba diver and loves to travel the world with her husband Don.

Stacy Meshbane, Co-Director
Finance & International Relations
 

Stacy holds a degree in Women's Studies from Vassar College and is a classically trained violinist. In her 17 years with Holden & Arts, Stacy has accumulated extensive knowledge of all facets of artist management - from marketing, booking and contracting artists, to chasing USCIS for visa approvals and helping artists navigate the sticky state and federal tax scene. An enthusiastic cook and host of many a merry dinner party, she lives in Austin, TX with her husband Clarke, son Noah, and cats Honey Badger and Cassiopeia.

Sarah Saltwick, Co-Director
Sales & Artistic Relations
 

Sarah began her work at HAA in 2008. She is a graduate of Hampshire College (BA) and the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas in Austin (MFA).  In addition to her work at HAA, she is also a playwright. Her plays have been produced nationally and received critical acclaim from the Austin Critics Table and B. Iden Payne Committee. Sarah lives with her husband Toto Miranda, musician and visual artist, their daughter Beatrix, and their cat Lulu.

Dave Buckman, Sales & Administrative Associate

 

Dave has been teaching, producing, directing and performing comedic theater for 25 years in Washington DC (American Univ.), Chicago & Cleveland (The Second City), Amsterdam (Boom Chicago) and for the last 14 years all over Austin, Texas.  He is Executive Producer for ColdTowne Theater and Austin SketchFest and Senior Producer for the Out of Bounds Comedy Festival.  He is a panel moderator and emcee for The Austin Film festival and performs every Thursday at Coldtowne Theater in Austin, TX.

Theresa and Michael Holden, Co-Founders
 

Michael and Theresa Holden founded Holden & Arts in 1983 and were awarded the 2014 Fan Taylor Distinguished Service Award by The Association of Performing Arts Professionals for their long service and dedication to the field. Michael and Theresa are active consultants for HAA, and Theresa is expanding her work with Artist and Community Connection and Story Circles, continuing teaching and consulting in the areas of artists working in communities and organizational development; Michael is doing more painting and writing and is looking into some presenting possibilities.
